Cheney, vice chair of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, was defeated by her GOP opponent Harriet Hageman, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump. Cheney spoke around 10:15 p.m. EDT when Hageman had a significant lead. Hageman had 113,025 votes, or 66.3 percent, to Cheney’s 49,316 votes, or 28.9 percent, with 99 percent of the votes counted, according to the Washington Post. Ingraham’s Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle, played just five minutes of Cheney’s 15-minute speech before launching into criticism of her for her campaign and criticisms of Trump....

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Bream cited comments made earlier this week by Utah independent Senate candidate Evan McMullin, who said the incumbent senator “actively helped plan the effort to recruit fake electors and to overturn our election and American democracy.” Both Senate candidates faced off in a debate on Monday, which was the first and only between the two with less than three weeks until the midterm elections....

Trump and his Republican supporters have repeatedly argued that the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry has been conducted improperly because the testimony of witnesses has been carried out in close-door hearings. On Wednesday morning, a group of GOP representatives, some of whom did not serve on the investigating committees, stormed one of those secure depositions, chanting “let us in.” This delayed the hearing, but it eventually went forward in the afternoon with only the Democrats and Republicans serving on the relevant committees permitted to attend....

Napolitano, who previously served as a New Jersey Superior Court judge and has routinely criticized the president for violating his constitutional power, defended the president’s controversial decision to withdraw the American forces from northern Syria during his Fox News digital show Judge Napolitano’s Chambers. He explained that the justification by the Trump administration to enter the Syrian conflict back in 2017 relied on a resolution approved by Congress back in 2001, following the tragic September 11 terrorist attacks....

The wide swath of right-wing political characters lashed out at the NBA for disavowing Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for a Sunday tweet, which offered his support for the anti-extradition Hong Kong protesters. Fox News contributor Guy Benson mocked the “disgusting” professional basketball league’s previous hard-line stances on so-called “liberal” issues, including opposition to a North Carolina anti-transgender bathroom bill and dropping the use of the word “owners” as a means of rebuking slavery comparisons....

Biden is leading Trump in Arizona, Wisconsin and North Carolina, three battleground states viewed as highly important by both campaigns. Trump’s wins in those states helped him defeat Hillary Clinton in his initial presidential run. Those wins were hard-fought. In North Carolina and Arizona, Trump won by roughly 4 points. In Wisconsin, he defeated Clinton by less than one percentage point. Data released Wednesday by Fox News indicates that Biden holds a lead of 9 percentage points over Trump in Arizona....

And now, Fox Sports 1 boss Jamie Horowitz is strongly coming to the defense of reporter Julie Stewart-Binks for inviting Rob Gronkowski to give her a “Magic Mike”-type lap dance on Jason Whitlock’s show during Super Bowl week. Horowitz told Sporting News he wants “fearless and incisive” programming on FS1 and FS2. The Patriots’ party-hearty tight end had previously told Conan O’Brien about his male stripping past. If anybody went too far, it was probably Gronkowski, not Stewart-Binks, Horowitz told Sporting News....

Of the 577-member National Assembly, a record 110 candidates were elected outright last night by winning more than 50 percent of the vote in the first round. Of those, 98 are from Sarkozy’s UMP party. Only one is a Socialist. Projections for next Sunday are wide-ranging, but all forecast a Sarko landslide. With between 383 and 501 seats for the right (compared to 60 to 185 for the left), this will be the first time since 1978 that power in parliament won’t have changed hands from one election to the next....

A French official said that Morrison has “yet to apologize” for forgoing its deal to build a dozen diesel-electric submarines with the majority French state-owned Naval Group, opting instead to ally with the U.S. and Britain to obtain nuclear-powered submarines. Among the items being considered for the transfer in ownership is a saber that France’s former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe loaned to Senegalese President Macky Sall back in November. The saber, according to Associated Press, is believed to have belonged to people who fought with El Hadj Omar Tall, a 19th-century military leader and Muslim scholar who once ruled lands that are now considered Guinea, Senegal and Mali. Should the draft law be accepted as legislation, Senegal would own the saber....

Frank Reich, who was let go by the Colts in the middle of the 2022 season, has been announced as Carolina’s fifth full-time head coach in franchise history. According to the Charlotte Observer’s Scott Fowler, the contract Reich signed is for four years. On Thursday, it was reported that the decision came come down to either Reich or Steve Wilks, who took over as the interim head coach following the midseason dismissal of Matt Rhule in 2022....
