Vassar’s class-action lawsuit wants to abolish the NCAA’s rule requiring transfers to sit for a year. Vassar claims Northwestern officials forced him to surrender his scholarship by misleading and intimidating tactics in order to free up his athletic scholarship for another player. DECOURCY: Transfers aren’t killing the game According to the Daily Northwestern, Vassar was placed on an “internship,” during the 2014-15 season in which he worked as a janitor, and was allegedly told by coach Chris Collins he had no future with the team....

According to Honolulu TV station KITV, the two-hour meeting — consisting of questions from the Ways and Means and Higher Education committees directed at Graham, university president David Lassner, athletic director David Matlin and board of regents member Randolph Moore — reached an emotional crux when calling in testimony from former players. The lawsuit on behalf of Smith, Ladell Betts, Anthony Davis, Christian Ballard and Gregory Westbrooks was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, with the plaintiffs claiming the NFL Players Association “withheld information from the players about the risks of head injuries.” The former players are seeking medical monitoring and financial compensation for long-term chronic injuries, financial losses, expenses and intangible losses. It refers to the “pathological and debilitating effects of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) caused by concussive and sub-concussive impacts....

The former poker champion did have his share of critics on the way he played the game, choosing to select from the middle to lower part of the board in hopes of hitting all the Daily Doubles … fact is, no one should be shocked that a poker player chose what he felt was the optimal strategy in order to dominate the game, which he did for six days....

Robinson on ESPN 710 in Seattle on Friday said Lynch is indeed considering retirement this offseason, but he still expects the running back to play in the NFL in 2015. Mulloy became the first International Tennis Hall of Fame inductee to reach the milestone Thursday. He won the U.S. Championship doubles with Bill Talbert in 1942, 1945, 1946 and 1948. In 1957, a 43-year-old Mulloy became the oldest player to win the men's doubles at Wimbledon, where his partner was Budge Patty. Mulloy, who grew up in Miami, played on winning Davis Cup teams in 1946, 1948 and 1949. He won senior titles into his late 80s and played tennis until 95....

In her new book, There Is Nothing for You Here, Hill describes the struggles she had working for the Trump administration from 2017 to 2019, particularly with Trump’s inability to objectively follow advice and stick to plans. However, when a topic “resonated with him and fit his personal interests,” Hill said the former president would “perk up.” “Countering terrorism, striking back against [Syrian President Bashar] al-Assad when he used chemical weapons against the civilian population in Syria, trade tariffs, and dealing with China fell into that category,” Hill wrote....

UConn said Monday he died April 13. Yokabaskas starred at Bloomfield High School before entering UConn. He was a three-time All-New England and All-Yankee Conference pick between 1950 and 1952, finishing his career with 1,275 points. He scored 22 points in the Huskies' first NCAA tournament game, a 63-52 loss to St. John's in New York's Madison Square Garden on March 20, 1951. He was part of the inaugural class of the Huskies of Honor in 2007 and was named to the UConn Basketball All-Century Team in 2001....

According to KSFM, Hill pleaded guilty to charges of attempted trafficking of Social Security numbers. He faces ten years in prison. In exchange for Hill’s guilty plea, two other charges against him were dropped. A Department of Justice report reveals that while working as a database administrator in 2017, Hill offered to sell an informant the personal data of veterans, their families and other VA employees for $100,000. Hill was fired from his position in December 2017....

Vettel won each of the previous two Indian Grand Prix events at the Buddh International Circuit, after finishing on pole. A third would put him among the all-time greats in Formula One. Only two other drivers have ever won four championships in a row, Juan Manuel Fangio and Vettel's countryman Michael Schumacher — who then went on to win a fifth consecutive title. After winning the last five races, Vettel is 90 points ahead of Alonso with 100 up for grabs and can guarantee the title with a top-five finish in India....

The most notable change is the addition of the new mech vehicle, called B.R.U.T.E. The B.R.U.T.E. is a giant robot you can walk around in and shoot rockets out of. As NASA planned it, Thuot was to snag the 4.5-ton satellite with a high-tech “capture bar” and haul it into Endeavour’s cargo bay, where it was to be outfitted with a new booster rocket. But the capture bar didn’t work (above left), and after repeated failures, mission control choreographed a three-man spacewalk to catch Intelsat-6 by hand. The risks were huge: by ripping a glove, an astronaut could have been killed almost instantly as his spacesuit depressurized....

Still, as the rumor mill surrounding one of the biggest-name coaches in the game continues to churn, the Sabres are starting to make sense for a few different reasons. The Buffalo News reports that member of the league’s “coaching fraternity” thinks he’ll pick them over the Red Wings, the team he’s coached for 10 seasons, and all the other suitors seem to be falling by the wayside. It’s gotten far enough that Babcock and Sabres GM Tim Murray, according to the AP, were negotiating a contract on Tuesday....

Appearing as a contributor on Fox News America’s Newsroom on Monday, Payne cautioned viewers against selling prominent stock but also admitted that there “could” be a global recession if the president’s threats were fully implemented. “I think most of what we’re seeing is anxiety more than anything else,” Payne said of the Wall Street sell-off. Trump supporter Gutfeld provided the fiery commentary on Wednesday’s episode of The Five, the panel show he co-hosts on the network. He admitted to having difficulty controlling his emotions when confronted with images of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her seven impeachment trial managers making the short walk from the House to the Senate to formally deliver the articles. “I’m trying to control myself from swearing,” Gutfeld said. “That was a frickin’ ceremony!...
