The roundtripper was the third of Samardzija’s career and his first with the Giants. (UPDATE: Joe Rodgers of Omnisport noted that the homer traveled an estimated 446 feet, making it the longest homer by a pitcher in MLB’s Statcast era, which started in 2015.)
