The Giants announced that Cruz tore the patellar tendon on the play — an injury that would require surgery and undoubtedly end Cruz’s season. Cruz screamed in pain as he was being attended to, and as he was being taken to the Lincoln Financial Field locker room.
Cruz’s right leg appeared to become unstable as he pushed off of it to reach for a high pass in the back right corner of the end zone. He started reaching for the knee before he hit the ground.
