It’s an issue Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson has been vocal about, and he raised it again Monday.

“Here’s what has to happen, it’s what I tell our team about playing: commitment has to meet expectations,” Johnson said, via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “You can’t have expectations with no commitment. It won’t work, no matter what you do.

“So, if you say you want to be on this level, then you have to be committed to be on that level and you have to do what those people are doing. It’s as simple as that.”

Johnson’s comments came two weeks after the Yellow Jackets lost at home to Clemson, and the 10th-year coach expanded on the theme by asking those in the audience if Georgia Tech’s facilities can compare to the Tigers’ — most notably, their new $55 million football facility.

With the answer being an obvious no, Johnson added, “How can the expectation be to beat them?”
