Take this one from Prequel Memes, for example. The account posted a meme on Twitter showing some famous Star Wars Jedis trading trick-or-treats. Anakin Skywalker asks veteran Mace Windu whether he would like a trick or treat, and Windu says “take a treat, young Skywalker.”
Anakin takes a Mars bar. Get it?
Twitter user Tonya posted a hilarious meme about the 1974 classic horror film, Halloween. The film tells the story of Michael Myers, a disturbed kid turned serial killer who’s after babysitter Laurie Strode. Through most of the franchise’s 13 films, the most recent of which came out this month, Myers is on a mission to finally slaughter Strode, who manages to keep getting away.
The meme shows Myers chatting with Jason Voorhees, the masked murderer from the Friday the 13th franchise, giving him a little bit of advice.
“You know what your problem is Jason,” Myers asks. “You go after too many girls. I’ve been chasing the same chick for like 30 years.”
A Twitter user called “The other Vince” posted a picture of Voorhees wearing his iconic hockey mask. The murderer is eyeing a white pair of croc shoes in his hand and exclaiming, “I love it!”
The Pumpkin Queen tweeted a meme of Stu from the horror film Scream yelling “I’m feeling a little woozy here!” when confronted with a bloody knife.
The caption above the meme says: “When you’re treat-or treating with your kids and have to climb up more porch stairs.” The Twitter user commented, “It’s a workout,” adding a crying face emoji.
One meme from Instagram shows a side-by-side of two classic Winona Ryder characters from Tim Burton films to mark the beginning of spooky season. The first image is of Kim, a normal teenage girl, in Edward Scissorhands (September 30th). The second photo shows goth teen Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice (October 1st).
The Mr. Men and Little Miss characters experienced a bit of a resurgence on Twitter earlier this year with their own memes. For Halloween, an adorable image posted to Instagram shows a black-haired Little Miss carrying a pumpkin candy bucket and happily walking along while surrounded by bats.
The caption reads: “Little Miss buys Halloween decorations for everyday home decor”.
Another meme got topical with its humor. Posted to the halloween._.memes Instagram account, the image shows Michael Myers (or “Michael from Haddonfield”) lurking near a hedge, captioned: “social distancing and wearing a mask in public since 1978,” a nod to protective measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The location was tagged as “Behind the Bushes.”
