DASBURG: I’ve always been attracted to the food-and-beverage business. I spent 10 years at Marriott before coming to Northwest, and helped turn around the Big Boy restaurants while I was there. I love going into kitchens, and I enjoyed coming up with ideas for new products.

One was the Dazzle Dog–a hot dog cut up and served on a bagel.
Any big ideas for new BK offerings?
My 10-year-old daughter, Kate, said that my first new product should be a “Dasburger.''
If you could change anything about the airline industry, what would it be?
The principal means of managing labor relations, as the negotiating process drags on, is turning out to be through the courts. Airlines are having to use them to prevent unions from encouraging employees to disrupt customer service. It’s giving organized labor and the industry a black eye.
Anything you’ll miss about the airlines?
The pace of business is extraordinarily high. Everyone who’s been in it misses it.
