Today we found a beach with palm trees (the symbol of luxury), cool clear blue waters, waves breaking far away on a reef, clear skies, hot rays of sun, and it was completely deserted. I can tell you this was a nice beach. Molly and Mommy took their tops off and we lay there for four hours and had a picnic with egg salad sandwiches on baguettes. They have a lot of baguettes here since it’s French.

Last night was a big night for French Polynesia. It’s a big celebration called Bastille Day. We got into our Hawaiian beach shirts and went to a ball. However, it started 30 minutes late and was pretty boring. But it got better when they started dancing more. It went on for hours. At the end, a midget came out and did the hula and everyone went crazy.

Yesterday we went to a pearl farm that was in the middle of a lagoon. They make black pearls there. We found out that they have to open the oyster and put a piece of another oyster found in the Mississippi River. So the oyster puts a thin layer of black on it, and you’ve got a black pearl. And Gigi, if you are reading this, there’s a lovely pearl necklace with 36 black pearls. It costs 1,800,000 CFPs.
