Caliendo appeared as a character called “Stephen B. Smith” and got the tics of the First Take loudmouth down pat. It’s certainly evolved since he debuted it in 2012 and I think it’s a bit less reductive than the version done by SNL’s Jay Pharoah, which is still very good.
