Former GPI World #1 Dan Smith ended up winning the lion’s share of the $8,613,000 prize pool and securing his second first place finish at Bellagio in the past six months. Smith won the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Classic  for over $1.1M last December.

Another former World #1, Jason Mercier - who, like Smith is currently ranked in the Top 10 - would take the second biggest prize home. Tom Marchese and Jason Somerville would also earn seven-figure scores in the event.

Welcome Back, Kotter star and veteran poker player Gabe Kaplan finished 8th in the event, earning his first tournament circuit score in over 4 years.
