Hill’s manager and coach told MMAFighting.com the fighter went into cardiac arrest because of a collapsed lung.
According to Hill’s wife, Lauran, he had been sick for days before being admitted to a hospital.
Hill had fungal pneumonia, FOX Sports reported.
“Corey was a loving husband and devoted father,” Lauran Hill said. “He was such a strong role model for our children, and would do anything to keep them safe and happy and healthy.
“(He was) a fighter till the end.”
Hill was 6-9 as a pro fighter and had a horrific leg injury in 2008 at a UFC event.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
