Minnesota failed to do anything with the good field position after the turnover, but that’s still not exactly what the 27-year-old rookie had in mind.
Hayne did not return any more punts after the muff, but he did carry four times for 13 yards and added a nice 7-yard reception.
As he did in the preseason, Hayne showed he has the athleticism to play in the NFL. Now, it seems, he must regain the trust of the coaches to return punts.
