As the Ducks and Buckeyes prepare to play the first College Football Playoff championship game Monday night, it’s fascinating to look back and see how dramatically the look of college sports has been transformed. The game the two schools played on that night nearly 76 years ago looks nothing like the one contested by Kentucky and Connecticut last April.

The uniforms, too, were far different than the high-tech Nike ensembles the Ducks and Bucks will wear Monday night.
