Neudorff puts the odds of racing Sunday at 30 percent, but does note the race was finished last year despite two long rain delays. Meteorologist Aaron Studwell predicts widespread rain Sunday and expects showers to continue Monday in the event the race is canceled.
The forecast at weather.com indicates an 80 percent chance of rain in Bristol during the day and scattered thunderstorms Sunday evening.
If NASCAR fans need a reason for optimism, the Air Titan 2.0 will be available at the race to dry the track. There was also this tweet from Dale Earnhardt Jr. about the conditions Thursday morning.
