Jim Sells, 71, of Grantville, spent 16 days in the hospital with the virus in August. At first, doctors weren’t sure they would be able to save his life. In an interview with Newsweek on Sunday, Sells said that before his brush with COVID-19, he was “hardcore anti-vaccine.” Now Sells says he promoting the vaccine “because that’s the only way we’re going to get our hospitals back.” “We don’t have our hospitals now, they’re COVID centers,” Sells said....
On Thursday, The New York Times reported that Warnock has pulled in $40 million since the November 3 general election, with Ossoff following closely behind. Warnock’s campaign was unable to confirm its fundraising totals to Newsweek. Newsweek also reached out to Ossoff’s campaign for confirmation and additional comment, but did not hear back before publication. Several prominent Democrats have launched their own fundraising efforts to help the Warnock and Ossoff campaigns....

She had recently undergone colon surgery, and her recovery had initially appeared to be going well. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Georgia senator criticized players for refusing to play. “Walking away from that moment prevents us from having those important dialogues,” she said after a rally on Friday. When asked if she’d consider taking on investors, Loeffler has been adamant that she’ll continue to be an owner for the team. “It’s very important we have conservative voices in sports, people that are willing to speak out and stand up for what’s right for our country,” she said....
A new poll from BUSR and the University of Las Vegas found that 44 percent of Georgia voters would back Kemp in a hypothetical runoff against Abrams, who ran for governor in 2018 and is tipped to run again in 2022. The Republican incumbent’s lead is just 4 percentage points—the same figure as the poll’s margin of error—meaning there is a decent chance he could be overtaken by Abrams, who has been credited with helping the Democrats to flip Georgia in the presidential election and in this week’s Senate runoffs....

According to the Associated Press (AP) forecast, with 99 percent of the votes counted Biden and Trump are both tied at 49.4 percent each, with the Democratic candidate ahead by around 1600 votes. Georgia’s Cobb County Republican chair, Jason Shepherd, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday morning he and his associates need “more information” before they can sign on to Powell’s election fraud lawsuit. Powell has brought lawsuits in both Georgia and Michigan which allege widespread voter fraud issues such as forged ballots and observers being unable to watch vote tabulation. But in addition to the paperwork being riddled with formatting and typographical errors, one of the GOP plaintiffs never even agreed to be listed on the lawsuit....

On Saturday, aerialist Anna Traber exchanged vows with Sven Lier in her hometown of Breisach, with both suspended from a tightrope. The ceremony began when father-of-the-bride Johann Traber, 66, drove the couple over the thin cable on a motorcycle. Photos on social media show Traber, 33, and Lier, 32, sitting together on a flower-covered swing opposite an officiant, seated on a trapeze. The draft rules published by Germany’s Federal Network Agency and its Federal Office for Information Security, with input from Chancellor Merkel’s office, do not explicitly rule out technology provided by China’s Huawei or ZTE. Although the rules are still in draft form, they could be finalized later this year and ultimately lead to extensive German reliance—even more so than today—on Huawei for the backbone of its 5G network. American government officials believe Huawei and ZTE are tied to Chinese intelligence and would therefore essentially siphon information for the benefit of China’s economy and its national security....
