The former Auburn football coach, who is seeking to win Alabama’s Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, claimed 33 percent of votes in the state’s primary election on Tuesday. Jeff Sessions, who held the seat from 1997 until his resignation in 2017 when he became Attorney General, won 32 percent of the vote. Bradley Byrne, the state’s third Republican nominee, won 25 percent, failing to advance to the runoff. Tuberville and Sessions will face off again in the March 31 runoff election....

Jefferson police said the body of Jason Thomas Berryman was found Wednesday with multiple gunshot wounds. Police have released few details of the investigation, but police Chief Joe C. Prosecutors in South Florida alleged Thursday that Bellamy, a St. Petersburg resident, and 10 other people conspired to file dozens of false claims under the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), with the group obtaining at least $17.4 million. Bellamy was charged with wire fraud, bank fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud. He was arrested Thursday and brought before a federal magistrate in Florida.
