Just 17 percent said Santos should remain in Congress, with 23 percent saying they don’t know or have no opinion. When broken down further, nearly half of New York Republican voters (49 percent) say they believe Santos should resign, along with 64 percent of Democrats and 50 percent of Independent/other voters....

The lawsuit also challenges Bottoms’ order for all city restaurants to close their dining rooms and for residents only to leave home for essential trips. Piedmont Healthcare announced earlier this week it will mandate all of its leadership, doctors, providers and new employees to be vaccinated starting Sept. 1, with “a few rare exceptions.” “As a healthcare organization, science underlies our fundamental purpose, and in this case, science has provided a clear path forward,” the group said in a statement, which was provided to Newsweek. The Atlanta-based group runs 11 hospitals and 34 urgent care centers in the Peach State....

Members of the House and Senate are expected to introduce new legislation Wednesday with a focus on mental health and substance abuse. The central part of the legislation will include requiring private insurers to give the same level of benefits for mental health disorders as they do for medical conditions, according to the Associated Press. “We have very clear indicators that there are many Georgians who are struggling but who aren’t getting the access to care that they need,” the AP quoted Roland Behm, a member of the Georgia chapter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention....

According to Channel 2 Action News, the suspect, Nathaniel King, 30, ended up trapped in the Cartersville shop, Salgado Tire, on January 5, 2020, after breaking and entering the shop through the rear door. A “towering rack of tires” then fell on top of him. “As the suspect made entry, as he came inside the business, the tires fell on top of him trapping him inside,” says Micheal Bettikofer, with the Cartersville Police Department, to Channel 2 Action News....

The police department in Conyers, Georgia, said that the man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was released from Piedmont Rockdale Hospital around 10 a.m. Thursday and later discovered lying on the sidewalk, according to the Rockdale Citizen. When EMTs arrived, police said they found the man had sepsis, a fever, a urinary tract infection, and a possible bladder infection. He was returned to the hospital, according to the newspaper....

Bulldogs coach Mark Richt said Murray heard a pop in his left knee when he made a cut on a 28-yard run in the second quarter of Georgia's 59-17 victory over Kentucky on Saturday. Murray was limping at the end of that series, which ended with his touchdown pass to tight end Arthur Lynch. But he remained in the game for one more possession.
